Recurring and final appearance by Glenne Headly as Karen Stottlemeyer
When a fellow police officer claims to be seeing Stottlemeyer's wife behind his back, the Captain loses his temper and punches him in the face. As a result, he is forced to take an anger management course on how to control his temper. When he confronts his wife about the situation, she is offended that he would believe such an obvious lie. Even though she denies all the accusations, Leland hires Monk and Teeger to follow Karen around town to see what she's up to. (Side note from Colonel Jack O'Neill; "You ended that sentence with a preposition! Bastard!") None of them realize that the entire situation is tied to the murder case that they're working on and that Karen is telling the truth. She is, however, seeing a divorce attorney on strictly business matters.
