Monkey Girl....you said
"The Fog (2005 Remake) What a piece of s***! I think I'll stick with the original, thank you. I'm so fed up with PG-13 Horror. The story line was a joke, and most of the digital effects are crap. You can tell it's CG fire and fog. John Carpenter should really be ashamed of himself for allowing this film to be remade. But he did openly admit that he did it to make money off of teenagers. Horror films being targeted to them is really hurting this genre. At least there's films like Hostel, Wolf Creek and Saw (II) that give it some balls."
I agree with you 100%. I am so sick and tired of remakes of horror films in general. They started bad by remaking Psycho (WHY wOULD YOU REMAKE IT!), then came Amittyville Horror (what on earth would you remake a movie that had 7 sequels?), Texas Chainsaw Massacre, The Haunting of Hill House (The Haunting), and many more. Now we have remakes of the Hills Have Eyes, Wicker Man, The Omen, When A Stranger Calls, and more. These are all great originals, LEAVE THEM ALONE!
If one of these no original idea directors/studios decide to even go near Jaws, Halloween, or Friday the 13th, I will loose it! None of these remakes are good, and they have all had bad reviews.....why don't they take the hint.
Sorry, stepping off my soap box.

Unfortunately, these remakes aren't going to end anytime soon. I wish they would leave movies alone too, but they won't, so...
The only remake that has been really good, IMO, was Dawn of the Dead (2004). I'm not sure if you could call it a remake, since it didn't have anything to do with the original, other than the mall part. The zombies were slightly different with being "Super Zombies", similar to the infected people from 28 Days Later (which is a great movie). They actually ran and tackled people, rather than lumbering around. And the ending was totally different. I was taken aback by it the first time I saw it.

Don't get mad at me, but I kinda liked "The Haunting" better than "The Haunting of Hill House". They changed the story alot.

Dead of Night (1945)
If you can get your hands on this movie and if you are a horror film fan, get it! This is one of the scariest movies I have ever seen. It is a horror anthology and the best I have seen to date. The scariest segment IMO is called "The Ventriloquist's Dummy" and it is unbelievable. I can't stay enough about this movie. I wish more horror films were produced like this today.

I've heard of that movie before. In fact, I think I may have seen it years and years as a child ago on a late night cable network. I could be wrong though.

Today I watched this movie called "Beloved" with Oprah Winfrey. Wow, this was a weird movie! Have any of you ever seen it? I guess this girl that showed up and called herself Beloved was the woman's dead daughter? Anway, it was hard to understand. Especially since I was doing other stuff at the same time I was watching it!

John Carpenter's Vampires.
James Woods is top notch in this movie. I own this and hadn't watched it in the longest time. I love the style of this movie. Kind of one of those movies that really looks good and actually has a really good story to go along with it. Glad I watched it again.

I, Robot.
Even though a lot of this is "by the numbers" I thought this was really entertaining.

Johnny English
Not really Rowan Atkinson's best work, but it still had it's moments.

North Country.
Great movie, can't say enough good things about it! Sucks that the movie took place very close to where I was born and the miners were that mean and disgusting towards women. Sicko's!

Equilibrium
Ugh! What a piece of cinematic crap! Total "Matrix" ripoff, scene for scene. I doubt Kurt Wimmer (writer/director) could come up with an original idea of his own. So, he decided to capitalise on the aforementioned, and much better by a mile, film. His newest film, "Ultraviolet" will proabably be a piece of crap too. That looks like a "Kill Bill" and "V for Vendetta" ripoff.

lol...I was thinking the exact same thing about Ultraviolet. The woman that plays the main character really does it for me though. It may be worth it to watch it just for that.
Well, it was a boring sunday yesterday and I watched all of the Star Trek TOS based movies in order....lol
