Monk and Teeger are investigating a diamond heist. The only thing that makes this case different than the others they've investigated is the fact that money is being offered to whomever solves the case. As a result, Monk and Natalie have to deal with many distractions* caused by all the people whom want to solve the case themselves.
*At the time of posting this I have not seen the episode. It is my theory that the word, DISTRACTIONS, is a major element of this episode. Everyone is so focused on solving the heist case that they were distracted from the real crime.
