Okay, I was just watching Death Becomes Him and I got to thinking how creepy it might have been for Tim Daly to get into the casket. There's no way I'd have done it cuz it would freak me out. When the day comes that I'm in one, it would be too soon...lol
So if you were in Tim's shoes, would you have done it?

I would have done it. I'm crazy like that. Caskets don't frighten me. They look comfortable.

Yeah, I would have, too! Especially if I was the star of a TV show like Tim Daly. I have to admit, it would be creepy once the lid was shut, though.

I love that episode and I love that line. Yes, I would but I have this fear that it would close on me and I wouldn't be able to get out. That would suck!

I was just now thinking of the Seinfeld episode where Jerry is doing his standup routine and saying that when people move they're always looking for boxes. Everywhere they go they ask, "Do you have any boxes?". It finally gets to a point where everywhere they go they can smell the boxes. "They got boxes here, don't they!" When people go to a funeral, they say, "ooh, that's a nice box. May I have that box after he's done with it?" Death is the last "big move" of your life and once you finally get the perfect box, you're in it!
Words to that effect were performed by Jerry Seinfeld and written by whoever wrote the episode in which it was part of. Unless of course Jerry wrote all of the standup scenes in the episodes.

Steve,
Just wanted to mention that it is awesome that you have Richard Dean Anderson as you avatar. That rocks!!!!!!!!!!
Here is something kind of funny. Richard Dean Anderson has a cabin not too far from my aunts cabin in Northern Minnesota. Although the lake he is on doesn't have too many cabins on it, and I can see why he choose it. I have just missed running into him a couple of times. He occasionally goes to a pretty big local 4th of July fireworks event that I go to up there. Of course, he is incognito when he is there.........and I don't blame him.

You know, in the show, Stargate SG-1, There were parts of some episodes in which Colonel(later General) O'Neill would go to his cabin in Minnesota. At least, I think it was Minnesota. The TV Series version of O'Neill was based on the personality of RDA. Cheyenne Mountain(A.F.B that houses the SGC=Stargate Command) in Colorado. In fact, the 8th season finalé, Moebis(his final episode), had the SG-1 team going to his cabin and THE LAKE to do some fishing. Beau Bridges plays the part of O'Neill's successor as commanding officer @ the SGC.
And I agree with you about his celeb status. If I were him(and I'm not LOL) I would want to be left alone once in a while and be myself. As nice as it would be to be famous, though.

Yeah, in at least three episodes of MacGyver, I can remember him saying that he wanted to retire or go back to his cabin/home in Minnesota. I haven't seen that on Stargate but I bet he has, as you say. In the interviews I have seen him in, he talks about Minnesota a lot. I don't blame him either, I love it here.
Thanks for posting that Steve, I
