I've always liked bluegrass. I have several CD's of various artists mostly the older stuff, though.

oh yeah, the old stuff is good too. There is a radio show on NPR here called "The Folk Show" on Saturdays and they play a lot of bluegrass. I suppose that's how I got into it. It's a far cry from the punk rock I grew up with. Infact, I used to play in a band called Sour. We have a myspace site www.myspace.com/sour1978 You can listen to our songs there fyi ;D

Very cool! I will check it out! What did you play? I play guitar and sing. Grew up on guitar because of my dad and took steel guitar lessons when I was young, but I taught myself acoustic guitar from Mel Bay, lol! I have played and sang lots of places, but only made some money one time playing for a bunch of old people at a party and they were kinda drunk. It was harder than I thought it would be.

On some of the songs I played bass and on others I played guitar. Derrick and I used to switch instruments a lot which was kind of awkward on stage. Ummm...lemme go by song...
Take It All - Rhythm Guitar Out of Touch Out of Range - Rhythm Guitar Stage Shadows - Rhythm Guitar Loved You Then - Bass
I also did some backup vocals.
That's awesome on the steel guitar bit. I've always wanted to learn to play stee guitar since I was a kid.

Really? I mostly did that to please my dad. Haven't picked one up now for a long time. Singing has always been what I really loved to do, but my dad said you have to be versatile to get anywhere in the business, which is very true, I guess.

Yeah, versatility is a good thing. Our claims to fame are that we opened up for Face to Face, Itchy Trigger Finger (now Action Figure 8) and Her Vanished Grace.
I'd like to do the country thing now and steel guitar would be the way to go since there are few steel players around here which also makes it hard to find anyone to teach me.

That would be a problem. Too bad you don't live out here where it is more prevalent.

Well, country/bluegrass is fairly prevailent here. Hence the nickname of the state, Pennsyltuckey. I just don't know anyone in that scene. Most of the musicians I know are punkers or metal heads. *shrugs*

Well, you'll probably find someone. Or you could move out here and I could be your lead singer! LOL!
Think I'll log off for a while. Been sitting here in front of this computer for about 5 hours now. *yawn*

Is there still a huge punk generation out there? It was big in some areas when I was younger here in Minneapolis but it is now completely gone. I still see a ton of metal heads. Bye the way, not really metal but have you ever heard Dee Snyder's House of Hair on the weekends? 80's metal and hair music! Guilty pleasure and it brings me back to my youth. Kind of funny.

And the videos for Twisted Sister are just hilarious! That is one band who never took themselves seriously and just had fun.

That, they are. Have you seen Dee Snyder's movie Strangeland? There's some twisted **** right there.

I did see Strangeland and that was pretty messed up. I was listening to "The House of Hair" about a month ago and he mentioned that they had finally greenlighted Strangeland 2.

I think I read something on that project being greenlighted at Bloody Disgusting awhile back, yeah.
