One of my favorite things is cooking and I'm always wanting to try something new so I figured I'd start a thread where we could share our recipes and other cooking related things.
I'll start with my chili recipe. Now keep in mind this is spicy and probably would set most folks' nose hairs on fire so if you want a more mild chili just half the ammounts of the spices and seasonings. Just remember you can always add more spices later if need be.
Ingredients:
-1 large can of kidney beans (or two 10 oz. cans)
-1 jar of spaghetti sauce (tomato paste works too but I find it to not be as flavorful)
-1 chopped red pepper
-1 chopped green pepper
-1 lb. of cooked hamburger (chopped steak, sausage and even chicken is good too)
-1 tbsp chili powder
-1 tsp cumin
-1/2 cup of chopped onion
-2 cups of water
-1 ten oz. can of corn.
-1 tbsp of pepper sauce (I personally like the Hooters brand but Tobasco and Franks are good too)
-1 tsp crushed red pepper
-1 tbsp black pepper
Just start boiling the water, spaghetti sauce and the kidney beans. Never strain off the beans just dump the whole can right in. Then put in the chopped onion, the corn and the peppers. Let it boil for about ten minutes. Next start adding the spices. Taste the broth ever so often so you can spice it to your taste. Once that is done just let it boil on medium heat for another 20 minutes or so and it's ready to eat.
This may seem like a lot but it is really quick and easy. If anyone tries it let me know what you think ;D
So does anyone else have something they like to make?
